Hudson, TX brings circus to town to raise money for a city park
HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - Hudson city leaders hope a circus fundraiser will add money to the city's coffers. It is one of several fundraisers planned in an effort to raise money to match a grant for a new city park.
"We need all the money we can get," Hudson Mayor Robert Smith said. "We were approached by people that do this. I guess they heard maybe that we were forming a park and in need for a fundraiser for it."

Mayor Smith said it would have been hard for the city to pull it off without the cooperation of the Hudson school district and Superintendent Maryann Whiteker. HISD provided use of the high school campus that allowed for plenty of room for the big tent and booths, along with plenty of parking.
