Famous writer Ernest Hemingway is quoted as saying the circus “is the only spectacle I know that, while you watch it, gives you the quality of a truly happy dream.”
While not everyone is as profound a wordsmith as Hemingway, they can sure enjoy the fun as the Jose Cole Circus comes to Hankinson at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
Tickets will be available at the door one hour prior to the performance. Pre-kindergarten and school-age children’s tickets are available for a pre-sale discount through the local daycare providers. Children ages 2 and under are free with a paid adult ticket.
“It’s been a nice community event and the stands are full,” Elementary Principal Anne Biewer said.
It’s the third time the Minneapolis-based circus has come to town and works, in part, as a fundraiser to help purchase books in the school library. Biewer couldn’t divulge all of what the audience could expect from the circus this time around but, without a doubt, the night will include feats of strength, acrobatics and, of course, animals.
“It’s a fun local event for families,” Biewer said. “It runs about two hours and it’s entertaining, enlightening and just plain fun.”
