COTTONWOOD, AZ --- The weather is warming, animals are groomed, and the carnival pulling into town. Dust off those boots, grab your hat and pack up the kids.
The Verde Valley Fair is gearing up for its annual five-day run starting Wednesday. Get ready for your favorites: food on a stick, rides that go quick, and dance music to make you kick! The pies are baking and the chutes are painted. Get discount tickets now.
Fair Manager Linda Harrison says this is going to be a great fair with plenty of family entertainment and some surprises. The entertainment slate is packed with music, animals and family-oriented shows.
The music and entertainment includes local favorites Happy Days. Friday and Saturday night there will be dance music performed by country music artist Eric Dodge. Sit back and enjoy Checker'd Past, who brings greetings from the '80s.
Godfrey the Magician will dish out daily entertainment for the whole family. So many folks requested George Johnson to return, that the fair had to bring him back. Hypnotist Susan Rosen, Mistress of Mesmerism, should you chose to join her on stage or just watch the show will give you the time of your life. Also back by popular demand will be Matt Baker's Comedy and Stunt Show. The show is full of hilarious and interactive comedy plus a stunt show; it's a must see! Everyone's favorite is Swifty Swine Racing Pigs.
Big news on the music front: Friday and Saturday is the rodeo plus country music artist Eric Dodge - Eric has been featured in "Country Weekly," America's largest country music magazine several times, and on the popular website, "Music NewsNashville". Two Nights Of Rodeo will delight all extreme sports enthusiasts. Bulls, saddle broncs, bareback, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, breakaway roping and barrel racing will all be featured. Admission to the Rodeo is included with fair admission and the show will be an action-packed show.
