“It has been a while since we’ve stopped through Moree but we are travelling to Queensland and thought it would be the perfect opportunity,” she said.

The history of Ashton Entertainment started with one man, James Henry Ashton, who was performing in Australia in 1848.
“We have been a family circus for 160 years and have had all of that performing knowledge handed down to us. At the moment we have three generations performing as Ashton Entertainment - the fifth, sixth and seventh generation of the Ashton family,” Ms Ashton-Rodriguez said.
The circus is made up of Brasil Rodriguez who began his circus career alongside his brother as part of the Los Muchachos Circus, Jan who has been a part of the Ashton circus since she was a child, Tamara Rodriguez the sixth generation Ashton and eldest child of Jan and Brasil, Chantel Rodriguez the youngest daughter of Jan and Brasil and Remi Rodriguez the seventh generation of the Ashton family and the son of Tamara.
Being the youngest generation of the Ashton family, Remi began performing in the circus at the age of 16 months when he debuted as a bareback rider.
Ms Ashton-Rodriguez said Remi has been performing the dangerous and intricate high perch act alongside his grandfather Brasil since 2002.
“Now Remi plays the role of Abussy the young boy who gets to live his dream of being a part of a circus,” she said.
The family said they always love stopping by Moree.
“We always fill seats when we come here and the people are always so lovely and don’t mind a long talk.”
