(Chadron)-Everyone loves a circus! From the animals to the performers, there is something for every member of the family. People in the Chadron area will have an opportunity to enjoy the festivities this weekend as the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus sets up in town for two Sunday performances.
The Chadron Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the circus, which will be set up at Chartran Estates, which is the lot south of Wilson Park, on Sunday. There will be two performances at 2 pm and 4:30 pm. People can come out earlier in the day to watch the tent raising between 9:30 and 10 am, and also get a free tour. The Midway box office opens at 1 pm, with tickets available for pony rides, the moonbounce, concessions and more.
Tickets are available in advance for the performances, and can be purchased at Chadron Federal Credit Union, First National Bank of Chadron, Security First Bank, First National Bank North Platte, and the Chadron Chamber of Commerce. Prices are $6 for children ages 2-12, $10 for adults, and children under 2 are free. At the gate, tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for children.
Tickets can also be purchased using a credit card over the phone by calling 800 BIG TOP 6, and advance tickets will be available on show day at this number until 4 pm Central Time. The circus will also be in Crawford on Saturday, with performances at 2 pm and 4:30 pm.
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus has been featured on A&E in their special, “Under The Big Top,” and on Nickelodeon’s news special, “On The Road With Circus Kids.”
