Blackpool’s favourite clown will soon be on display in his new home.
Heritage chiefs say work is progressing well on repairs to the Charlie Cairoli statue.
It is hoped to unveil the likeness later this month at its new home inside Blackpool Tower, where Charlie was the star of the Tower Circus.
The fibreglass monument originally went on show in Stanley Park in April, but after it was damaged, calls were made for the statue to be displayed somewhere safer.
Blackpool Tower manager Kate Shane said: “We have chosen a place for Charlie between level five and level six.
“It is within one of the free areas so everyone will be able to come and see him.
“The statue will be placed in an alcove, surrounded by information and with some red curtains to give it a proper circus feel.
“It will be a great photo opportunity.”
Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for tourism Coun Graham Cain said: “The Charlie Cairoli statue is currently in storage, while work is carried out to make sure that it is in pristine condition ahead of the unveiling of its new home in the Tower.”
