Hornell, N.Y. — Billy Martin’s “Cole All Star” Circus is coming to the Maple City Thursday, so grab the family and head up to the Hornell High School for the one-time show this year.
“We have a lot of different acts this time around,” said Billy Martin of Olean — owner, operator and ringmaster.
A barrage of performances will make up the 95 minute show, including the renowned Rinny Family of Argentina —a four-person juggling team.
“It’s the most unbelievable juggling act you’ll ever see,” said Martin. “To top it off, their son, Jonathon, does a balancing act on roller cylinders.”
Joanne Wilson will return with a Labradoodle dog show and Marty the miniature horse is a new feature this year.Martin, who has been ringmaster for 35 years, still loves his job.
“Every show is like opening night,” he said. “To transfer these school gyms into a one-room circus is pretty neat and we get to do it everyday.”
The Cole All Star Circus was founded in 1938 by James M. Cole from Penn Yann, according to Martin.
Children 12 and under are free, adult tickets are $7 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the HHS front office.
Proceeds benefit the HHS DECA (Distributive Education Club of America) Club.
The circus will travel in from Watkins Glen and head to Binghampton after Hornell.
