Getting an education is important, but so is taking a much-needed break from the day-to-day routine of classrooms, smart boards, textbooks and regular instruction. On Thursday, the students of Furman Middle School did just that with the help of some impressive entertainment by Wonderland Circus, a traveling circus that tours South Carolina schools.
The circus - run by Bill Brickle, who has been in the circus business since 1954 - performed two shows for the school of more than 800 students. With help from his troupe, Brickle's Wonderland Circus mixed music, slapstick comedy, audience participation, an aerial cradle performance, clowns, juggling and other amazing circus acts to create a fun-filled, loud and enthusiastic atmosphere in Furman's gymnasium.
