Rockford,IL---If you don’t enjoy one of the county fairs that take place late every summer in northern Illinois, maybe it’s because you haven’t learned the ropes.
Ferris wheels are attractions at virtually every county fair.
Here are some tips from people who really, really, really know their county fairs:
Boone family likes events, fair food
Jane Zeien and her family seldom miss a day at the Boone County Fair. The kids showed animals and 4-H projects when they were younger. Now 18-year-old Nicole will enter her horse and some sheep, while 22-year-old Nathan will take part in the demolition derby.
Jane and husband Paul will encourage them in those competitions and enjoy hanging out in the barns with the 4-Hers and many friends they’ve made through the years.
Jane Zeien enjoys seeing how the young exhibitors develop more polish and poise each year.
